OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
I can bring to this position over twenty years’ teaching and supervising experience incorporated with additional studies of a Master of Education, a Post Graduate Certificate in Behavioural Management, a special needs minor and developmental psychology minor; I am dedicated to improving student learning and offering students a supportive and caring environment to create academic achievements. My strongest attributes are being highly organised, compassionate and motivated.
An expert in Behavioural Management and Special Needs I have the ability to reinforce positive behaviours within the environment. I can share my knowledge and offer assistance by working in collaboration with colleagues to develop Individual Education and Behavioural Management Programs.
As a highly inspired and results orientated leader within the educative sector, I have acquired a proven track record of providing exemplary levels of dedication throughout a broad range of educational situations. Leadership is the ability to guide a group; it inevitably involves new philosophies and strategies that work. It is never easy to take the lead, as you will need to make decisions and face challenges; with the appropriate background knowledge it becomes natural and very rewarding.
Driven by a continual quest for knowledge and greater understanding of the educational system, the additional studies have enabled me to develop not only specific leadership qualities but also a valuable and transferable skill set in this dynamic environment. This is invaluable when contributing to the development of community values and needs.

Why do we use a Positive Behaviour Support Approach?
Why do we use a Positive Behaviour Support Approach?
- PBS is an evidence-based approach, meaning that high-quality research has proven it to be successful.
- PBS is underpinned by a strong commitment to human rights, enhancing quality of life and promoting community inclusion and participation.
- PBS uses assessments that look beyond the behaviour itself and considers the interaction between the person, their environment and the people around them.
- PBS involves several steps that help us to collaboratively identify, prioritise and describe behaviours and establishes common ground among all those involved.
- PBS involves the development of an individualised plan which summarise the supports the person, and their significant others, requires to make positive changes to address unmet needs.
- PBS develops the skills of the person (like helping them find more effective ways to communicate and building on everyday living skills) to help them experience success and personal satisfaction.
- PBS is a collaborative approach that includes the important people in the person’s life like their family members, carers, staff, teachers, employers etc. This means that support is more likely to be implemented across all settings of the person’s life, thus having a greater and more enduring impact.
